WALKING, MEDITATION AND CEREBRAL WAVES

Against some opinions that are raised on how to achieve meditation, this integral system of walking does not necessarily require those conditions and requirements.

Those recommend being in a comfortable and resting position; in a pleasant place, preferably in an isolated room, to make it quiet and peaceful; and put the mind “empty.”

With the system of reading, writing or drawing while walking, we can reach those same levels of abstraction, concentration and relaxation, that is, a full meditation, but it still goes beyond. We do not necessarily have to resort to closed rooms, but quite the opposite; neither must they be done the walks in a quiet and peaceful environment, although not having this last can be a source of distraction; and the position is not precisely resting, but standing and walking, always walking.

Meditation  -and likewise its main components-  is not a state where we have to put the mind “empty”, but we put it to work concentrated, on very specific topics, which for the meditator are so exciting  -or can reach to be it-  that they abstract them from everything and feel that they float in “no space” and in “no time”; in other words, we subtract from the surrounding environment, as our mind and our 5 physical and spiritual senses are abstracted (from the immediate reality), and focus, reflecting and feeling, respectively, on that topic, subject or activity simultaneous to walking, which we are passionate about.

722. SPECIAL THOUGHTS

Let’s keep in mind that meditation is not just about achieving relaxation. Walking associated with reading, or writing or drawing, allows us to produce alpha waves but also theta. The alpha waves are associated with relaxation and other states more attenuation of consciousness (less rationalism), while theta are those that are generated in our brain when we are placed in a deep calm and consciousness of time and space are lost, they are the waves that are established and implanted  -with organization-  in the mind when we make contact with our unconscious, but we continue with an apparent consciousness, that is, our attention is relaxed and our physical and mental executions are not governed by rational actions, in such a way that we put ourselves in a hypnagogic state: we walk and we do not perceive it, we read and we do not realize it, and when we wake up from that state, we become aware that we have walked 5-6 miles  and read 10-15 pages of a book.

For this state that is achieved by walking in an integral way, is that I have recommended in previous posts that you must be very careful to perform this type of active meditation in environments where they may have contact with cars, bicycles, and other types of vehicles, it must be done in safe, familiar and well-known places.

you relied on the video to make your point.

You obviously know what youre talking about, why throw away
your intelligence on just posting videos to your site when you
could be giving us something enlightening to read?
